Our Technology

Digital X-rays

We now use Digital X-rays. A small electronic sensor is used instead of film. The image is transmitted instantly to the computer.

Advantages of this technology include:

  • X-rays reviewed in large format which enhances diagnosis
  • X-rays can be printed or emailed
  • Lower levels of radiation exposure
  • Green! No chemicals to process film

Computerized Records and Charting

Our office is completely electronic (paperless). This has many advantages including both accessibility and accuracy.

These records include all aspects of your care:

  • Clinical notes
  • Periodontal charting
  • X-rays
  • Prescriptions
  • Treatment plans

Primescan Intraoral Scanner

Primescan is the newest intraoral scanner on the market. This technology scans the mouth and translates them into three-dimensional models. With Primescan we can take impressions of your teeth without using messy and uncomfortable impression trays which is more accurate than traditional impression techniques. Yes, that means no more goopy stuff inside your mouth. The 3D model impressions can be sent instantly to our labs to create the highest quality custom crowns, inlays, onlays, implants, night guards, whitening trays or whatever dental appliances you may need.

How Primescan Dentistry Benefits Patients:

  • The scans are patient-friendly: The scan is faster than traditional techniques because it uses a camera instead of that goopy, messy materials that cause gagging.
  • Scans are more accurate: The scanner has virtually zero percentage of error vs. the older materials have shrinkage and expansion properties.
  • Better fitting dental work: Not only is the scanner more accurate, but errors such as saliva or patient movement are visible on the screen before it’s sent to the lab. That means fewer redoes, and your time will not be wasted.
  • Less frequent and shorter appointments: The impression is perfectly accurate, and the software can skip certain steps that would usually require multiple appointments to capture. For example, a denture that would take seven appointments and up to 1.5 months to make can take as little as a week with just a couple of appointments.

Airflow Therapy

Airflow therapy is a hygiene treatment that removes persistent stains on your teeth, plaque and discoloration using a combination of water, compressed air and fine powder particles. These three components are combined in a high-powered jet which gently removes stains from your teeth including hard to reach areas as well as biofilm from above and below the gum line to improve your oral health and help you achieve a brighter smile.

Panoramic X-ray

A panoramic dental X-ray creates an image of your entire mouth, including the upper and lower jaws, all the teeth, temporomandibular (TMJ) joints, and even your nasal area and sinuses. This allows us to get a clear picture of your condition for easier diagnosis and treatment.

A panoramic dental X-ray creates an image of your entire mouth, including the upper and lower jaws, all the teeth, temporomandibular (TMJ) joints, and even your nasal area and sinuses. This allows us to get a clear picture of your condition for easier diagnosis and treatment.

  • Assess patients with an extreme gag reflex.
  • Evaluate the temporomandibular (TMJ) joints.
  • Expose cysts and abnormalities.
  • Expose impacted teeth.
  • Expose jawbone fractures.
  • Plan treatment (full and partial dentures, braces and implants).
  • Reveal gum disease and cavities.

Intraoral cameras

Intraoral cameras are changing the face of routine dental appointments. A pen-sized imaging device is inserted into the mouth that captures clear high-definition photos of the inside of your mouth. Intraoral cameras help in the diagnosis of several dental conditions such as decayed and cracked teeth. They also help dentists explain the oral issues to patients with the help of the images taken. Dentists can use this tool to show their patients, in real-time, the condition of their mouth and make informed treatment decisions

Laser Therapy

The benefits in using lasers in periodontal treatment are many. The laser is more precise, enhances wound healing and is less traumatic.

The laser can be used for:

  • Gingival recontouring
  • Frenectomy
  • Biopsies
  • Apthous ulcer (cold sore) treatment
  • Abscess drainage
  • Soft tissue crown lengthening
  • Periodontal pockets
